Undergraduates interested in working as Research Assistant should submit an RA application

Schedules and tasks vary by research project, but can include community-based work, statistical analysis, and/or qualitative analysis. 

Past Research Assistants 

Janelle DeGuzman worked on the juvenile confinement project, "Family visitation, behavioral incidents, and staff safety: What changed in the COVID-19 era?".  She graduated from Randolph Macon College (RMC) in 2022 and is now pursuing a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University.


Skylar Ackerson, graduated from RMC in spring 2022, worked on the juvenile confinement project, "How staff demographic differences predict staff handling of behavioral incidents and staff perceptions of safety". She recently started a position in the social work field.


Faith Mayhew graduated from RMC in spring 2023 and worked with PbS data to investigate youth suicidal and behavioral incidents in juvenile confinement facilities. She is now pursuing a PsyD at the Chicago School of Psycholgy at Washington, DC.
